Lake Griffin is conveniently located in Central Florida, only 50 miles from Orlando and three miles north of Leesburg. Highway 441 and Leesburg International Airport are just minutes from the lake and easily accessible for travelers.

The lake is a part of the Harris Chain of Lakes. Real estate is generally more affordable on Lake Griffin than the rest of the chain due to its distance from Mount Dora.

Lake Griffin State Park is known for being home to the state's second largest Live Oak Tree of 400 years. The park encompasses 620 acres and has many activities to enjoy including two hiking trails, boat tours and camping sites.

Minutes from Lake Griffin is the Eisenhower Regional Recreation Center, an informative history museum covering issues from WWII and much more.

The Brownwood Paddock Square is a nice place to spend an evening of relaxation, filled with entertainment venues, shops and food. Some restaurants include World of Beer, Gator's Dockside and O'Shucks Oyster Bar and Grill.
